About Dennis Leeflang

Hey There!

My name is Dennis Leeflang. I'm currently the drummer for Guns N' Roses guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal and have toured and recorded with many other great artists all over the world, including Lita Ford, Within Temptation, Epica, Ted Poley (Danger Danger) and Anneke van Giersbergen.

I started teaching about 12 years ago when drummers would email me with questions about drum parts of some of the bands I played with. Before I knew it, I had several drummer a week come over to my studio to take lessons. It didn't take long for me to realize how much I enjoy teaching and helping other drummers, and I started teaching several days a week when not on the road. I've worked at several drum- and music schools both in Europe and the US, and have done workshops, masterclasses and clinics all over the world in front of audiences ranging from a handful of people at a masterclass, to hundreds of people at trade fairs and festivals.

I currently teach out of my studio in Westfield, New Jersey, only minutes from Manhattan, New York City. Apart from lessons at my studio, I also offer online tutoring through BANDHAPPY.

Extensive experience teaching students of ALL ages and levels!

The aim of the lessons is to prepare beginning drummers to function in a band setting, as a team player, and to develop comfortable technique and creativity in order to express him/herself as a drummer freely. No matter what your ambitions are! Just wanna be able to jam with friends? Or become the next drumming sensation? We'll do it!
For intermediate to advanced drummers, I offer additional interesting exercises and and inspiring concepts. No matter what your playing level is, there is always something to learn!

The studio has two professional DW (Drum Workshop) drum sets set up, fully equipped with high-end PAISTE cymbals and REMO drum heads.
