About Scott Fernandez
I am an artist.
I use the bass to make my art.
I do so because there is no other instrument that sings with the same timber or paints with the same brush.
I do not want to be a guitar player.
I do not like guitar.
I do not compare myself to other artists that use the bass.
I will not compete with others in a "who's better" match.
I am a natural bass player meaning I started on bass. (Upright Bass to be exact)
I have never taken a lesson.
I know enough about my instrument to tune it.
I am not in a band by choice.
I will remain that way until I get the guts to ask the bands that I want to be in whether or not they would like to have me as a bass player and until that time I will continue to make the music that I love with the instrument that I choose to speak with.
My music will continue to be difficult to classify and I will continue with my theory that if you write music that means a lot to you and put it in a format that people can understand than people from all across the world will enjoy it.
Bass = Music = Life
(haven't posted in a while so I thought I would make it worth it)
Heya, everyone!!! My name is a Scott Fernandez and I am a bass artist, well versed in many techniques and the variation of those techniques in both the "standard" bass arena and the Extended Range Bass world. We will work on:
- chord tapping, pattern tapping, arpeggio tapping, single melody tapping, melody/ bass tapping
- Thump/ Slap, Thumb picking, Sweep picking, Linear Picking/ Combination patters, Latin style bass/ chord lines, classical "guitar" hand techniques and positioning.
- Finger style and mufti-finger style
- Composition and song writing, effects, and much much more.
I will begin with the basics exercises and strength needed for all of these techniques and we will determine the purpose of what you are wanting your playing style to be. Practice is everything and I need for anyone who is interested in working with me to practice these things independently. There will not be a lot of returns to exercises after they've introduced, aside from in reference. I look forward to working with you all very soon!!! Get excited, the hard work starts now d-_-b
Band: Nope. Solo (for now)
